Performance above the historical average reinforces the dynamism of agribusiness and its impacts on the economy

The Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Confederation (CNA) released an analysis of January 2025 data from the New General Registry of Employed and Unemployed Workers (Novo Caged), from the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE), highlighting the positive impact of the agricultural sector on the generation of formal jobs.
In the first month of the year, Brazilian agriculture created 35,754 new jobs, more than double the historical average of the last 20 years (14,608 jobs). This growth was driven mainly by soybean cultivation (11,746 new jobs) and apple production (9,918 jobs). Other segments, such as soil preparation and harvesting services, grape cultivation and the production of certified seeds, also contributed significantly.
The geographic distribution of new jobs reinforces the strength of agribusiness in the South and Central-West, which together accounted for more than 34,000 new hires. This scenario highlights the strategic role of the sector in the national economy, reflecting not only the growth in production, but also the opportunities generated throughout the production chain.
