Brazilian beef exports are expected to grow above the world average in 2023. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) estimates that the national industry will sell 3.5% more abroad than the volume in 2022. Namely, last year’s volume was 2.345 million tons.
For the USDA, global beef exports as a whole will grow only 0.5% throughout this year. In other words, Brazil will be, according to the US agency’s estimate, a positive highlight in 2023 in terms of production and shipments of animal protein.
According to Cristiano Botelho, executive of the Brazilian Association of Artificial Insemination (Asbia), “this projection shows the potential of Brazilian meat in its mission to feed the planet”.
“It reflects the commitment of our cattle ranchers to investing in technologies” — Cristiano Botelho
In addition, Botelho values the work of the country’s beef cattle professionals. “More than that, it reflects the commitment of our cattle ranchers to investing in technologies, such as quality genetics, which make it possible to increase productivity and efficiency.”
Brazilian beef stands out worldwide
With the result estimated by the USDA, Brazil will represent 24.60% of global beef exports. In this way, the country will further consolidate itself as one of the main suppliers of protein worldwide, emphasizes the Asbia team.
