The physical market for beef cattle recorded stable prices per arroba in the main producing states.
According to Safras & Mercado analyst Fernando Henrique Iglesias, despite the stable prices, the current context still requires separate analyses according to the region of the country.
In the Southeast, China-standard animals continue to support arroba prices, with reports of negotiations above the average reference throughout the week. In the Center-North of the country, the pressure movement was strong at the beginning of the week.
“Now the negotiations are less fluid, with cattle ranchers still adopting the retention of cattle as a recurring strategy. Basically, the pastures are in good condition and allow the maintenance of this type of strategy in the coming weeks”, says the commentator.
Iglesias also highlights that this dynamic will change during the second quarter, a dry period in which cattle ranchers tend to lose retention capacity.
Thus, in São Paulo (SP), the reference price for beef rose to R$286.
In Minas Gerais, prices closed at R$285.
At the same time, in Dourados (MS), the price remained at R$252.
At the same time, in Cuiabá (MT), beef ended the day at R$247.
In Goiânia (GO), beef is at R$265.
Beef: wholesale market
Beef prices, on the other hand, remain stable in the wholesale market.
According to Iglesias, there is a tendency for some price recovery during the first half of the month, a period that is most attractive to consumers.
“The situation of competing proteins is still noteworthy, with chicken meat being much more competitive compared to the others in this first two months,” the commentator highlights.
Therefore, the forequarter was priced at R$14 per kilo. The needle tip was priced at R$14.30.
Finally, the hindquarter of the ox was priced at R$19.80 per kilo.
