The Paraná Department of Rural Economy (Deral) reported that the areas of first-crop corn have reached 21% maturity, 54% fruiting and 17% flowering. Harvesting has already begun in some regions.

In the west and southwest of Paraná, areas that will soon harvest the first-crop corn, Deral highlighted: there will be a loss of productivity. According to the agency, this will be due to the attack of leafhoppers, in addition to the drought in certain parts of the state.

In Rio Grande do Sul, the drought is causing producers to take extreme measures. Farmers dedicated to rice cultivation are being forced to abandon their crops due to the lack of water for irrigation. According to the weather forecast, it will rain again in the state in the coming days. This rain, however, will be very irregular.
