The National Association for Fertilizer Distribution (Anda) indicates that fertilizer deliveries to the Brazilian market, from January to November 2022, were 37.71 million tons, a reduction of 11.3% compared to the 42.54 million tons recorded in the same period of 2021.
In November 2022, 3.74 million tons were delivered, a reduction of 10.8% compared to the same month of 2021, when 4.20 million tons were recorded.
The state of Mato Grosso, leader in deliveries to the market, concentrates the largest volume in the analyzed period (23.9%), reaching 9 million tons.
Followed by: Goiás (4.13 million), Rio Grande do Sul (4.12 million), São Paulo (3.95 million), Paraná (3.84 million) and Minas Gerais (3.60 million).
Fertilizer imports continue to reach the Brazilian market at the speed that rural producers have been demanding to ensure record harvest production.
In this sense, Anda reiterates the sector’s ongoing commitment, competence, and resilience to ensure the continuity of imports and overcome the challenging scenarios of the global situation.
Domestic production
Domestic production of intermediate fertilizers ended November 2022 with 583 thousand tons, representing a decrease of 4.1%, compared to 6.85 million tons from January to November 2022, with an increase of 5.2% compared to the same period in 2021, when 6.51 million tons were produced.
Imports
Imports of intermediate fertilizers reached 2.32 million tons in November, a reduction of 44.6%.
From January to November 2022, the total imported was 32.35 million tons, representing a reduction of 9.3% compared to the same period in 2021, when 35.67 million tons were imported.

At the port of Paranaguá, the main entry point for fertilizers, 8.87 million tons were unloaded, representing a reduction of 11.2% compared to 2021, when 9.99 million tons were unloaded. The terminal accounted for 27.4% of the total imported.
