With the purchasing power of most of the Brazilian population still quite fragile, the demand for eggs is likely to remain strong in 2023.
On the other hand, the low economic growth expected for 2023 may limit the demand from the food industry for processed eggs.
On the supply side, estimates by Cepea indicate that, in 2023, Brazilian production of eggs for consumption may register a slight increase of 0.1% compared to that expected for 2022, reaching 3.2 billion dozens.
As for prices, expectations are high. In addition to the fair supply, high production costs may also sustain – and/or increase – the negotiation values of the protein.
