Cepea, 06/01/2023 – Despite the challenging global scenario – with the risk of a recession influenced by major global economic powers – and uncertainties related to the national situation, the outlook for the Brazilian poultry farming market is positive for 2023. Industry agents consulted by Cepea are optimistic, based on the possibility that meat shipments will remain high and domestic demand will be strong. In Brazil, chicken meat consumption may remain strong, given the low economic growth and high inflation, which are expected to weaken the population’s purchasing power. On the external front, ABPA (Brazilian Animal Protein Association) estimates an 8.5% increase in meat exports, which could total 5.2 million tons, which would be a new record for the sector. On the supply side, calculations carried out by Cepea show that domestic chicken meat production will grow by around 2.3%, while the external availability of meat is expected to remain limited. This scenario should open up new opportunities for Brazil and continue to reinforce the country’s leading role in the international market.
