Soybean prices at the Port of Paranaguá fell by 0.75%

The price of soybeans has fallen again in the Brazilian market, with expectations of a record harvest in the country. According to the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea), the price of soybeans at the Port of Paranaguá (PR) this Thursday (2/13) was R$ 131.64 per 60-kilo bag, 0.75% below the value recorded on Wednesday (2/12).

The National Supply Company (Conab) reinforced its expectation of a record harvest this Thursday. With the harvest underway, the estimate for soybean production was practically maintained in relation to last month, at 166.1 million tons. According to Conab, a water restriction is noted in Rio Grande do Sul and Mato Grosso do Sul, offset by favorable conditions in the rest of the Center-West, Paraná and Santa Catarina. The expected volume is 12.4% higher than that harvested in 2023/24.

On the Chicago Stock Exchange, soybean lots for delivery in March closed slightly higher, by 0.22%, after the release of supply and demand data, at US$ 10.30 per bushel.
