Several Brazilian agribusiness products began the year with record exports.
A highlight was corn, with more than 6 million tons shipped.
Revenue obtained in January from cereal exports exceeded US$ 1.840 billion, an increase of 163% compared to the same month in 2021.
Another highlight of the agricultural sector in the last month was the increase in shipments of paddy rice.
More than 72 thousand tons were shipped, an increase of 180% compared to January 2022, when the volume was just over 24.5 thousand tons.
Revenue jumped even more, from approximately US$ 6.3 million to US$ 23.7 million, an increase of 256%.
Sugar sales also showed good progress compared to January 2022, with a 67% increase in revenue and almost 50% in volume. Beef shipments generated US$ 775.7 million, an increase of 2.5% compared to the amount in January 2022. In terms of volume, the increase was almost 11% in the same comparison, going from just over 138 thousand tons to 160 thousand tons.
On the downside, the highlight was soybeans, which fell 66% in volume, going from more than 2 million tons exported in the first month of 2022 to 851 thousand tons in January of this year.
In terms of revenue, the drop was 61%, from US$ 1.2 billion to just over US$ 506 million dollars, in the same comparison.
